April 11, 2026: Twelve Heavenly Generals at Shin Yakushiji and Great Buddha at Todaiji

April 11, 2026: On a sunny Saturday afternoon that felt like early summer, I had lunch in Nara and, for the first time in a while, visited the Twelve Heavenly Generals at Shin Yakushiji. They were remarkably solemn and awe inspiring. I also visited the Great Buddha at Todaiji.

As photography is not permitted, I was unable to take photos of the Twelve Heavenly Generals at Shin Yakushiji but their solemn and majestic presence remains vividly in my memory.
